Common Questions About Joining DABA

How much of a time commitment will it be?
The amount of time you dedicate to DABA is entirely up to you. There are monthly DABA meetings that last about 1 hour, and taking part in DABA events usually takes just a few hours (for example, you can help setup the Halloween Dance, or organize the Night at the Races event). Coaching takes a little bit more of a time commitment but is well worth it!

Will I be able to vote on how DABA spend their money?
After you have been a member of DABA for 6 months you'll get voting rights on nearly every decision that DABA makes.

I see the same DABA members at each function - how do you spread out the volunteer jobs?
Truth is, right now DABA is short staffed, so the same volunteers do much of the work. While this isn't a large time commitment, many hands make for light work! The more members we have, the less everyone has to do. The members you see at the functions are there because they want to be!

How much does it cost to join? Does this pay?
Joining DABA is absolutely FREE! There is no pay for being a member of DABA, it is a volunteer role.
